Illegal Fentanyl is mixed into other drugs by the cartels and dealers to make them more potent, addictive, and less expensive — often without the user’s knowledge. Illegal Fentanyl has been found in heroin, cocaine, Meth, and marijuana, as well as in pills made to look like prescription drugs, such as OxyContin®, Percocet®, Vicodin®, Xanax®, and Adderall®.
Users are often unaware that the pill or substance they are taking has been laced with Fentanyl.
7 out of 10 illegal pills seized by the DEA in 2023 contained a lethal dose of Fentanyl.
