FENTANYL

In 2023, the DEA seized enough Fentanyl to kill every American.

LEARN THE FACTS ABOUT FENTANYL

Everyone MUST know that Fentanyl is appearing in illegal drugs of all kinds and can kill you.
Experimentation with drugs has never been more deadly.
  • Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid made in a laboratory. There are two types of Fentanyl: pharmaceutical Fentanyl and illegally made Fentanyl.
  • Pharmaceutical Fentanyl is a regulated drug used in hospitals or prescribed to patients in severe pain.
  • Illegally made Fentanyl is primarily manufactured in illicit labs in Mexico and smuggled into the United States in powder and pill form.

  • Illegal Fentanyl is mixed into other drugs by the cartels and dealers to make them more potent, addictive, and less expensive — often without the user’s knowledge. Illegal Fentanyl has been found in heroin, cocaine, Meth, and marijuana, as well as in pills made to look like prescription drugs, such as OxyContin®, Percocet®, Vicodin®, Xanax®, and Adderall®.
  • Users are often unaware that the pill or substance they are taking has been laced with Fentanyl.
  • 7 out of 10 illegal pills seized by the DEA in 2023 contained a lethal dose of Fentanyl.
Skull-People
  • Just 2 milligrams of Fentanyl, a miniscule amount, can kill you.
  • The amount of Fentanyl contained in one sugar packet is enough to kill 500 people.
Skull-People
  • A lethal dose of Fentanyl can cause someone to stop breathing, cutting off oxygen to the brain, and quickly leading to a coma and death.
  • If you suspect a friend has overdosed, call 911 immediately and administer Narcan.
  • Narcan is an over-the-counter nasal spray and can save a friend’s life by keeping them breathing before an EMT arrives.
  • Narcan is available for anyone to buy at drug stores.
Skull-People
  • Test strips can detect Fentanyl but are illegal in some states.
  • For test strips to be effective, users need to crush each pill or drug, add the powder to water, and test the water before ingesting.
  • Most test strips are 96% accurate in detecting Fentanyl.
  • Fentanyl isn’t evenly distributed in illegal pills, so one pill doesn’t represent all pills.
  • Do not take pills that aren’t prescribed to you. ONE PILL CAN KILL.
  • Be aware that any illegal substance you take may be laced with Fentanyl.
  • Carry Narcan with you.
